Policies & Information
Reservations:
Advance group reservations for 15 or more are required for all groups. Place your reservation 4 weeks or more in advance to ensure availability. If you are planning to visit in less than 4 weeks please contact us for availability. To place your reservation we would need your groups name, your name, mailing address, phone number, date of visit, number of adults, children and seniors in your group, approximate arrival and departure time and Omnitheater title and time, special exhibit time if applicable.
Confirmation:
After reserving your group you will receive a written confirmation invoice for your Science Museum visit. Contact us immediately if anything is incorrect.
Deposit Policy:
A $75.00 dollar deposit is due after placing your groups' reservation. Deposits may be made with check or major credit card. Science Museum Group Sales can be reached at (651) 221-9426 or for field trip visits (651) 221-9444. Your reservation may be cancelled if deposit is not received.
Cancellations:
Cancellations must be made 2 weeks in advance of your groups visit with all monies fully refundable. If the group cancels your reservation with less than 2 weeks notice the $75.00 deposit is kept as cancellation penalty.
Final Group Count and Final Payment:
Full payment and head count is due at least 72 hours prior to your groups visit. Final payment must be in the form of one check or credit card. Refunds will not be made after tickets and or admission wristbands have been issued. Tickets are held at the Box Office for pick-up by the group leader or mail out is available upon request.
Parking:
The Science Museum of Minnesota of Minnesota has its own attached parking garage for cars, trucks and vans. Rates are variable ($1.00-$15.00) depending on the length of time spent in the ramp and event parking. Meter parking is also available throughout downtown Saint Paul. Motor coach and bus parking is not available on site. Parking rates and bus parking information is available on line at www.smm.org/parking.
Dining:
Elements Café featuring hot entrees, salads, sandwiches, burgers and soups has sweeping views of the Mississippi river valley and a seasonal outdoor patio. Service is cafeteria style letting everyone in your group to get just what they want. Chomp Deli features soups, salads, ice cream surrounded by dinosaurs. The Java Lab featuring Caribou Coffee located in the Box Office lobby has gourmet coffee and tasty treats. Box lunches, food vouchers and other options are also available. A full suite of private banquet and meeting rooms accommodating up to 350 with full catering is also available on-site.
Shopping:
The Explore Store offers a wide array of unique gifts, games and science merchandise. Located in the Main Lobby the Explore Store is sure to have something special for you to take home to remember your visit.
Museum Accessibility:
The Science Museum of Minnesota is fully accessible for visitors with physical disabilities. Wheelchairs, assisted listening devices, closed captioning, audio description and other aids are all available upon request. Please contact us to make arrangements for your group.
