During School Release days for MEA (October 15-16), we've got a full lineup of activities for kids and families!

Extended Hours

Humpback WhalesEnjoy the Humpback Whales Omnitheater film, Race: Are we so different? exhibition, and Sherlock Holmes and the Clocktower Mystery exhibition with extra hours for the weekend! We'll be open from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. On Friday night, students with ID get special discounted admission after 5 p.m.

Remember, Science Museum members get free admission to both the Omnitheater and exhibit halls. We strongly recommend purchasing advance tickets to minimize your wait and guarantee your visit times.

MEA Break Classes

Make the most of your break with our fun and educational classes!

Mystery Detectives, ages 6-12
You're on the case to solve the mystery by delving into the exciting world of forensic science. How do detectives use science to solve crimes? Find out in this two day mini-camp as you follow the clues like a real detective. Examine evidence under microscopes, analyze tracks, and more, as you use science and your powers of deduction to solve the crime. Learn more

Wizarding 101, ages 6-12
Experience some of the best activities from one of our most popular summer camps -- Wizard School! Take a potions class, experiment with levitating objects, and enjoy a fun day in the wizarding world. Learn more

Mad Scientists' Laboratory, ages 6-12
Come explore our Mad Scientists' La-bor-a-tory for a day, where there are curiosities to be discovered. Conduct experiments with dry ice, have a hair raising experience with electricity, and make some messy mixtures with us—if you dare! Learn more

Kids will work on in-depth projects and experiments and spend time with our year-round instructors who have chosen their favorite exploration to share.
