Leon Wiens - Exhibit Maintenance Manager
Mr. Wiens joined the Science Museum staff as head of Exhibit Maintenance in 1989. He built the Maintenance department from a staff of two to its current six maintenance technicians. Responsible for coordinating maintenance of over 60,000 square feet of highly interactive exhibits Wiens keeps the Museum over 90% operational at all times.
Prior to his arrival at the Science Museum Wiens studied Refrigeration Mechanics at Thermo King Service School. He has an AA degree in Model Making from Green bay Technical College and a Vocational Degree in electrical and refrigeration Appliance Repair. In addition Mr. Wiens has taken courses in management, fine arts photography, art appreciation, urban planning and studio drawing from the University of Wisconsin in Green Bay.
