&lt;p&gt;The chromosome couch is a fitting place for visitors to sit while contemplating the complexity of how we inherit traits.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Visitors can feel the pulse in this bloodstream while watching the &#039;blood&#039; as it flows past, carrying important substances such as blood cells, nutrients and hormones.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Visitors use a magnifying glass or a microscope to view a variety of organisms that can live on or in the human body.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;This is a unique hands-on wet biology lab where visitors use real lab equipment to perform short experiments on topics such as cell biology, genetics, microbiology and enzymes.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;This is one of the Cell Lab activity benches where visitors stain their own skin cells and observe the cells with a microscope.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;This is one of the Cell Lab activity benches where visitors use a simple protocol to extract DNA from wheat germ.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Another activity bench in the Cell Lab, this activity leads visitors through a fruit fly dissection in order to stain and view real chromosomes.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The demonstration station provides a place for museum volunteers or special presenters to show models, tissue samples and dissections, amongst other things.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;A slit lamp allows visitors to look at another person&#039;s eye close up, showing the incredible detail and unique variations in each iris.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The visitor role plays being a doctor or a pathologist to diagnose what is the cause of illness or death in three patients. Real tissue samples, x-rays and test results are used.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Visitors use models of several microbes (bacteria and viruses) to try to successfully invade a cell in the nose or throat and cause infection.&lt;/p&gt;
