The Science Museum of Minnesota's 6,000-square-foot Collections Gallery provides a venue for the museum to showcase its more than 1.5 million natural history artifacts and specimens. These objects are rotated through the exhibit, to make more of the collection accessible. Visitors not only view the collections but learn where the objects came from, why they are important, and how they are cared for. Highlights include an Egyptian mummy, and a selection of questionable medical devices. The Collectors' Corner encourages visitors to start their own collections and bring objects they have found to the museum for identification or to trade them for other items. A visible conservation laboratory puts the work of the object conservators in full view of the visitors.
