RNC AND SHUTDOWN
SCHEDULE: Given the museum's proximity to the Xcel Energy Center and our role as an official RNC venue, the museum will close for public business on Friday, August 29 and reopen on Friday, September 12. This period includes the period leading up to and during the RNC, as well as the museum's annual September shutdown week when we conduct exhibit maintenance.

COMPLETE SKELETON OF YOUNG TARBOSAURUS FOUND: Japanese and Mongolian scientists have successfully recovered the complete skeleton of a Tarbosaurus (related to the giant carnivorous Tyrannosaurus) from a chunk of sandstone they dug up in the Gobi Desert in Mongolia. The dinosaur came from a geological layer created about 70 million years ago in the late Cretaceous period. READ MORE
