Explore the fantasy technologies that are portrayed in the epic film series, all while reliving the magic of the six Star Wars films through authentic props, models, and costumes.

Tickets to Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination are for specific dates and entry times. This exhibit has a limited capacity, and we anticipate that it will be full during peak times such as weekends.

We expect better availability for entrance times earlier in the morning, and in the evenings. (we are open each evening until 11:30 p.m.) We strongly recommend purchasing your tickets online in advance to avoid the lines.

Outdoor science fun is only a putter's length away! Explore the Big Back Yard and play science-style mini-golf, wander through a prairie maze, take in its great gardens, and learn about how most of Minnesota's drinking water exists underground by experimenting with the museum's pristine artesian well.

The Science Museum's Anthropology Department has created Tending Traditions, a new blog that follows the growth of the gardens in the Big Back Yard. The museum's Ethnobotany Project brings cultural anthropology, archaeology, and American Indian perspectives together through the study of these gardens.

RNC AND SHUTDOWN
SCHEDULE
: Given the museum's proximity to the Xcel Energy Center and our role as an official RNC venue, the museum will close for public business on Friday, August 29 and reopen on Friday, September 12. This period includes the period leading up to and during the RNC, as well as the museum's annual September shutdown week when we conduct exhibit maintenance.

Science BuzzCOMPLETE SKELETON OF YOUNG TARBOSAURUS FOUND: Japanese and Mongolian scientists have successfully recovered the complete skeleton of a Tarbosaurus (related to the giant carnivorous Tyrannosaurus) from a chunk of sandstone they dug up in the Gobi Desert in Mongolia. The dinosaur came from a geological layer created about 70 million years ago in the late Cretaceous period. READ MORE
