Problem Solving, Inquiry, and Innovation

Engineering is Elementary (EiE) is a research-driven, standards-based, and classroom-tested curriculum designed to integrate engineering and technology concepts and skills into elementary school science lessons. EiE lessons not only promote STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) learning, but also connect with literacy and social studies.

The Science Museum of Minnesota's vast experience working with the EiE curriculum includes field-testing units, teacher professional development, and teaching EiE in multiple schools and classrooms. To foster understanding of engineering and technology content and pedagogy, the Science Museum has been approved by the Museum of Science, Boston—EiE project leaders—to offer EiE professional development for educators in the Upper Midwest.
