Ruth Tringham
Ruth Tringham is professor of anthropology at the University of California at Berkeley and
director of the BACH (Berkeley Archaeologists at Çatalhöyük) team. At Catalhoyuk Ruth is
very interested in the life history of houses, how they were built, how they were used
and who lived in them, and how they were destroyed at the end of their useful life.
Before coming to Catalhoyuk, Ruth worked for many years in Bulgaria, studying the houses
in early farming towns.
