Camp-In Scholarships

Policies & Procedures

Individual/Family Scholarships will make up approximately 1/3 of the total Camp-In Scholarship revenue that is budgeted.

School/Organization Scholarships will make up approximately 2/3 of the total Camp-In Scholarship revenue that is budgeted.

All Scholarships will be given on a first-come basis.

There are no scholarship deadlines, but Camp-In Scholarships will be given only during a Camp-In season, which runs from October - June.

For Individual/Family Scholarships, the participants will need to fill out the Individual/Family Camp-In Scholarship Form. Two types of individual/family Camp-In scholarships are available:

1. Scholarships for 85% of the fee are available for individuals/families currently receiving public assistance (TANF, MFIP, General Assistance, WIC, Medicaid or Medical Assistance, SSI, Food Stamps, MN Care, or Section 8 Housing). You will be awarded or declined depending on the availability of funds.
2. Scholarships for 50% of the fee are available for other individuals/families needing assistance. These awards are based on financial need and availability of funds.

For School/Organization Scholarships, a school or organization will need to fill out the School/Organization Camp-In Scholarship Form and provide written verification of the percentage of students involved in the free or reduce lunch program. Three types of school/organization Camp-In scholarships are available:

1. If 85% of the group is receiving free or reduced lunches, a Scholarship will be awarded for 50% of the Camp-In fees.
2. If 75% of the group is receiving free or reduced lunches, a Scholarship will be awarded for 25% of the Camp-In fees.
3. If 50% of the group is receiving free or reduced lunches, a Scholarship will be awarded for 12% of the Camp-In fees.
