What sounds do you associate with summer?
I remember, as a kid, lying in bed and hearing the chirps of crickets and the , the cooing of mourning doves, and the dull roar of distant traffic punctuated by the occasional siren. That's a nostalgic mix for me.
Or how about the sounds of a good summer thunderstorm?
By the way, did you know that some cricket chirping frequencies vary according to temperature?

i like the sound of chirping birds too unless they do it all the time then it gets annoying

I like the sound of waves crashing on the beach--it's really comforting.
Reminds me of every Christmas when my mother and sister and I would go and take our annual Christmas card picture there. ((:
The best sound that i assoiate with summer is a horses neigh. i love horses

My favorite sound is the sound of grass mowers in the Summer time. Makes me feel good inside :]
I like the sound of gross being mowed in the summertime too. It gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling inside.

I hear the sound of my dad singing and playing the piano.
The sound I most enjoy is the sound of chalk on the chalkboard, because it is a sound I associate with learning and scientific achievement. To me, it represents the all to important world of academia.

i always just adore the nostolgic sounds of bird dung landing on our tin roof after a refreshing rainstorm, the plop of human waste, the mourning doves being shot from the trees. i love it

In Montana, I always enjoyed the sound of the seasonal winds. The higher up into the mountains you got - the clearer you heard them. Aswell as nature, the sounds of bird chirps in the forest and random insect noises.
In MInnesota, I have always enjoyed hearing the birds outside my window and the occasional smack-smack-smack of moths hitting my window. I also love to hear the sizzle of Mom's pancake griddle.
The sound of wind and waves and quaking aspen at a Minnesota lake is the sound of summer to me.

I live wayy out in the country so usually before i go to bed i hear tons of noises in the summer we hear alot of coyotes from the cornfields next door. During the dayy we usually hear loons on the lake. The sound of frogs and toads at night are kind of annoyiingg at times.

The best sound during the summer is theocean waves and the sound of someone jumping into the lake. That definatly has to be the best sound all year round. =]

I remember the sound of the breeze through trees in the mountains of Montana. Whenever we are out there I always get the exact same feeling of relaxation and tranquility.
My favorite sound is of someone humming softly. This sound makes me feel safe and secure, because I like quiet things most of all.

a sound that reminds me of summer would be a crack of a baseball bat at the diamonds by my house. hearing the games going on i know that summer is here. also when i hear my neighbors playing outside.

When I was about 7 or 8, I always looked out the window in the morning and listened to the chirps of the birds.
The sound of the old Duluth foghorn (unfortunately now defunct) brings back childhood memories of sitting in my room upstairs on a gray rainy day and listening to its low rumbling bellow.
Fortunately 8 or 9 years ago, I went to the south pier at Duluth's canal park and recorded the foghorn before they stopped using it. You can hear an edited segment of the recording here.
Turn it up and listen for the faint echo coming back from the hills after each blast.

music helps me concentrate and relax. i listen to music when i feel sad, depressed and happy. i listen to music whenever i feel like it!!!!!!!!
like the sound of a b-ball when it swishes through the net, and the sound of lopeing or galloping horses. Oh yeah, and the sound of fish frying in the skillet.

Music usually triggers memories for me.
Music opens windows that could not be opened before. It helps me relax and have fun! If you play or sing music you get the joy of knowing that you made someone very happy!!

we had a pasta pot for 10 years that always clatters when we cook on it
When i was born i had i great memory and i remembered every thing to the second of my birth to this very second. any ways when i was born party star was playing.
i love the sound of the Red Wing Black Bird. They sound like a waterfall very calming and peaceful. The cyotes make a very soulful cry at night. My cats sit in front of the patio door and listen to them. All safe and sound in the house.I also like the howl of my baby boy Benny the Beagle. I hate the sound of my husband complain about the cats and dog.Peace and HappyNew Year
I have a cat and sometimes she wakes me up with all of her meowing (its really loud!!!)
But I love her dearly! :-)
i know! I have a cat too, and she is the loudest thing ever! She will come into my room and meow so loudly that i have to toss her in the basement. But i luv her anyway:)

I remember when I was a second grader, off for the first time to summer camp.The first night, of course, I couldnt sleep. As I lay in my bunk bed, wide awake, I heard the hoot of an owl and the chriping of crickets answering. I crept out of bed and onto the deck and I watched as the owl took flight with the quietest rustle and the crickets chriped their little heart out. A deer, timid and shy, stepped out of the trees and began to nibble at a spot of fresh grass. Now, whenever I hear those sounds, I stop and trace my footsteps back in time to that wonderful night.
My favorite sound is Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D. It is so beautiful...
Certainly my least favorite sound is the sound of a person vomiting.
Bob you have a crazy mind but your funny. Vommiting is music to my ears when someone I rival or dont like does it
My favorite sound is a smooth jazz song by Bonnie James that goes its getting better in time. This is Maria and I's song because it helps us through bad times and gets us all perky and happy

My favorite sounds come from the older music such as classical music and it's soothing the other sounds that make me think are sounds of really well thought out music that is full of real testimony.
When me and my sister Emmy were little, we remember waking up in the summer time
at our cabin and listening to the lovely morning birds. And I remember that we would always stay
outside to listen to the lovely birds and sound of the wind.
Whenever we went into our cabin, the only sounds we heard were the
sounds from our lame dad who was coughing all the time from smoking so

i hate the sound of some one else sweeping. it's ok if i do it but it gives me the willies to hear some one else.
My favorite sound is the crackling of a fire at my cabin, or the gentle meow of my cat snowball.
this one time i was riding in my van and i was listening to my music well my mom turned up the radio really loud and i couldn't hear my iPod so i turned it up even louder so i could hear it...but then it was really loud and my eardrum bursted and now i can't hear and that is a lesson i will never forget. Never turn your music really loud!
hi, from my childhood, i remember the sounds of my rooster crowing in the early morning. that sound triggers happy and both sad memmories for me

At first I thought it was just feathers! Then I read the caption and relized it was WHOLE birds!!!!!!
I have two favorite noises. The first one is the sound of the wind in the trees because it is so relaxing. The other favorite sound is of the horses chewing their hay. It is the sound of total contentment and is also relaxing
