A recent study shows that chimps had comparatively fantastic memory to humans. In a fast-paced "memory game" subjects only saw a collection of nine numbered cards for one second. Chimps could remember the exact location of the numbered cards in the precise order they were hidden in. Humans, it took them a couple of seconds to react accordingly. The same study showed that humans are much better at abstract thinking than any other life-form on the planet (which isn't saying much, considering the intelligence of most animals).
Chimps are one of the smartest animals on the face of the earth. There is no way that I could be smarter than that. Yes, human beings have created many tools and other stuff, but it started with the chimps knowing before us.

Humans have many things to think of at the same time...especially adults. Sometimes my brain seems so full I can't remember simple things like where are my keys? I don't imagine chimps have to remember multiple schedules, who needs lunch money, what's for supper, shopping for a birthday gift etc all at once.

no, because i think that monkeys are really plexian spies sent from Jupiter to monitor our primitive activites. So their brains are obviously more advanced and capable than ours, and dont forget that they are stronger too, because of the increased gravity on their planet compared to our gravity making their muscle to mass ratio much better than ours.
so obviously golem would lose against a monkey in a fistfight, but they can remember more than us...

I think that monkeys might be more well developed in the area of memory. I think that nobody would bother posting this poll like this if the more obvious answer, that humans would win, was the actual outcome. This reasoning shows that I'm altogether more intelligent than a chimp. However, I can't remember what I ate for breakfast sometimes.

No, I don't Think I could. And neither could most of the human population, unless maby it was a super-human vs.a retarded chimp. I saw on the news that Chimps were able to touch the numbers 1-9 in order when placed in random order on a touch-screen. Even when the cimps saw the numbers for only a second before the numbers were covered with a white square, they touched the squares in numerical order.

I would imagine that it would depend on how the memory test was designed. Perhaps a chimp would do better then I in some types of memory test, but I could probably beat the chimp in others.

It all depends on the amount of time given to memorize what must be remembered. Chimps do better than humans the shorter the time limit is. They seem to register what they see more quickly than humans. That is proabably important in an environment where other things what to eat you.

Science has already proven that the human mind is more powerful than a monkey....so yes, an average human SHOULD be able to outperform a monkey in all areas of cranial science.
