Limestone building stone
Many of the older houses in town have basements made of limestone blocks. These were a popular building material before cement blocks became common.

It was very educational seeing Body Works and re-visiting the
SPSM permanent display. The new SPSM was a great addition to
the Twin Cities.

Another pretty house... I wish the pretty big houses weren't so expensive...
That house was moved there and the "Basement stones" are just limestone tiled over cement blocks. How ironic. Still cool because the home owner went to the trouble to make it fit in historically.
I THINK THAT THIS IS REALLY COOL! i HAD NO IDEA THAT THERE USED TO BE AN OCEAN IN MINNESOTA. HOW COOL! i LOVED THE DINOSAUR EXIBIT TOO. mY ENTIRLY FAVE PART WAS TO BODY WORLDS EXIBIT. i THINK THAT SOME MINNESOTANS TAKE OUR AWESOMLY COOL MUESEAM FOR GRANTED. wE ARE REALLY LUCKY TO HAVE SUCH A GREAT WEALTH OF INFORMATION VIRTUALLY AT OUR FINGERTIPS!
