Dr. Gary Parker works at the University of Illinois, where he studies the how landscapes and seascapes evolve in response to the erosion and deposition of sediment. Gary Parker happened to be here at the museum on Monday August 28th, so we interviewed him to get his thoughts on Hurricane Katrina in the Gulf Coast.
Parts of New Orleans should be saved but we should look very carefully at what we can leave so that there is not so much to clean up next time and there are less people that need to be saved because this will happen again, it is just a matter of when.
