Yahoosure if it was shown that alternative energy companies had a part or were supported to develop these and the large companies were limited in their control of the power economy

More than I am paying now? It's easy to say yes, but financially it would be very difficult for me. Knowing that there are a lot of people who are in a more difficult financial situation that I am make this a difficult choice. I don't see how solar, wind or hydroelectric could be more expensive than what I am paying now, because I sure am paying a lot! Xcel Energy has a program where you can elect to get more of your electricity from alternative sources. And, depending on how much energy your household uses, it isn't really that expensive ($2.00 per 100kWh each month). But I know what you mean, Joe: sometimes the bottom line on that Xcel bill takes your breath away...

Yes. Local power companies have a wind power option right now that only costs a few extra dollars a month.

Yes, I'D be willing to pay more, but I'm wondering: if only a few of us would do it, would it make any difference?
