Gator blood: Could it be the miracle cure for AIDS?

For one thing, alligators have really bad medical insurance. But the bigger reason they stay so healthy is in their blood. New research has shown that alligator blood can kill off 23 different strains of bacteria. In effect, the gators have antibiotics in their blood.
Researchers started looking into alligator blood after noticing that the creatures rarely get infections despite all the wounds they suffer in their violent lives.
Why does any of this matter to us? The discovery could have huge impacts for our health. For one thing, experiments have shown the alligator blood is able to destroy much of HIV, the virus that leads to AIDS.
More specifically, alligator blood (and the blood of many other reptiles) is high in peptides, which are fragments of proteins). Learning more about these peptides could lead to the creation of medicines we’d be able to use to fight off strong viruses like HIV.

Don’t worry. You won’t be getting any transfusions of alligator blood the next time you’re at the hospital. Researchers estimate that pills or creams with the peptides that are also present in alligator blood might be ready for the human marketplace within the next seven years.

There are components in the alligator's blood -- peptides -- that attack the virus that causes AIDS. If we can recreate those peptides in the form of medicine, we'll have a way to counteract the the impact the HIV and AIDS viruses work in human bodies.

why would anyone say "no it cant what are you thinking"
why cant it? what makes you the final word
on the subject, . soon humans will be designed with a perfect body.
you will be long dead before that happens though, lol, unless you believe
in animal/human hybrids, you will die before you have to,
it is likely, cloning is here, in 50 years we will have acheived
physical immortality through cloning and copying our 'selves'
into our cloned bodies.

omg thats the best news i've heard if they were to find the cures of HIV omg they would save so many lives.... i hope they find the cure i wish they would have found years and years back my grandma had AIDs so i hope they find the cure soon.....

I thought this article was cool. I really hope the find a cure for aids because it is tearing the globes population apart in certain areas.

This has been on the horizon for a while now, they are using Crocodile Fat products in order to heal the skin. It was just by chance that I came across the website that has something called repcillin,

i think this is the break though we needed to save thousands of millions from the deadly std, so i support it with full convidence,and mabey one day it can be cured like a common cold.

Don't know about the blood, but the dr croc oil is amazing.
In South Africa its in all the pharmacies and has taken the country by storm

i think it is the best way to cure aids,because as what louisiana have said before,alligator's blood can cure or destroy almost 23 strains of bacteria. I hope,there are some people that can discover or invent that kind of medicine so other sick people will have the oportunity to live happy and will have a better future,and to give them hope to experience challenges in life,because life is what we make it,but other says life is destiny.Anyway life is life,so don't dare miss it!..charing!

it is very interesting to know that alligator"s blood can destroy almost 23 strains of bacteria,so its cool.keep up the good work!.And because of that,you can give hope to those who need that medicine specially to the sick people. You can give them a better future.bwahahahahaha!!
