On father's day we went to the Stone Arch Festival. On the Minneapolis side of the Stone Arch Bridge I discovered an archaeology dig in progress, and anyone could join in. Every Saturday through August 12, the public is invited to help excavate the Cataract Mill Complex at West River Parkway and Portland Ave in downtown Minneapolis. You are invited to dig in and use the tools and methods of archaeologists to help explore this historic resource. Bring your friends and family. No cost. No reservations required. Time: 10-2p.m. Location: Mill Ruins Park (map) Phone: 612 313-7793.
