Big rocks hurtling through space tend to smash into our planet. Unfortunately if these rocks are big enough they could easily wipe out human civilization. So now the United Nations is drafting a plan about how to respond to an eminent asteroid impact. And no, their first step is not to hire Bruce Willis.

KILL IT
I would suggest building an underground city (Not as crazy as it sounds!) Get LOTS of canned goods, light bulbs (Florenscent), band together to make self-sufficent areas underground. Make a small cavern out of cinder-blocks (Like a bomb shelter, only bigger) Get loved ones with all the viable supplys you've got! Get as much water, food and other goods down there and as close to the impact date as possible (To insure freshness)
Somebody has been reading "City of Ember."
No, I think the only practical option here is to band together the earth's most powerful telekinetics, and then battle the asteroid with mental energy. AC-DC would be playing.
Really, I think we could make a fun weekend out of it.
The City of Ember is a great book! It doesn't have anything to do with telekinetics!

The telekinetics idea is mine alone - I've given it a lot of thought, and I'd hate for Jeanne DuPrau to steal my thunder on Asteroid Day.

We have more to worrie about than an asteroid hitting the earth, about 4,000 automobile-related deaths in any given month. Cancer deaths around 40,000 a month. And heart disease deaths every 35 seconds. And all of this just in the U.S.. So why waste time making a plan on what to do if an asteroid hits the earth? At least some of these deaths could be avoided, an asteroid hitting the earth again is not.

Thats Totaly how were going to live in the futer..I'am half phsyic..Yeah we will have to get used to living in the ground because the earth will be the only thing sheilding us from harmful UVB/UV light, zero atmospher (no air), deadly HIT by an ASTRIOD, Dust, Water from a Tidal Wave that would cover the planet....i'm sure to think of other posiblities...
BUT .......think of it????? New world order!! Who controlls the ground????where are the borders...if i could dig a hole in my basment to your door step ,,i think its easy accsess to your home..Faster then walking down my driveway then up yours to the door!!!??? I"m in controll
