On August 29, 2005, hurricane Katrina crashed into the Gulf Coast, leaving a swath of death and destruction in its wake. And now, a year later, many people are still feeling Katrina’s aftermath. On the anniversary of hurricane Katrina, Science Buzz features a variety of links and resources. We want to hear your natural disaster stories. And Katrina survivors, we especially want to hear from you!

hurricane katrina was by far the worst thing that could of happened to the people who lived in New Orleans. it makes my heart ake every time i hear of it.
I'm from Minnesota, and just couldn't believe what happened. Unfortunately I was not able to visit New Orleans prior to the storm. :( I really wish I could have visited it.
Take care!

MY BEST REGARDS GO OUT TO EVERYONE WHO WAS THERE THE DAY OF HURRICANE KATRINA....
hurricane katrina was devastating.
it was sad to hear all the news casts.
everything that died.
sad stuff.............
my cousin had to evacuate new orleans to get away from the hurricane. she was lucky she got to take her dog home with her. i am glad to have my cousin safe!
It truly was such a sad event... many people were seperated from their families, hurt, or even died because of Katrina. I can't believe that something so devastating could happen! For everyone reading this that are survivors: I hope you and your family are okay now.
This was such a sad event! I hope that all the survivors are okay. It is hard to believe the number of deaths and seperations!
hurricane katrina left alot of people devastated including me and my family. we lost a beautiful home and my little cousin was very traumatized. i am very upset that the gvoernment isnt doing more. they should be doing everything in their power 2 get everything back on track. i dont think the government is prepared for another natural disaster like hurricane katrina. which makes me wonder how safe are we in america...... or in this world.
