Not the same turtle: But I only count one flipper.
Courtesy jurvetsonThis green sea turtle was found by tourists after having lost all but one of her flippers. With the help of the nonprofit group Sea Turtle Inc. she was able to survive, and her wounds were healed. Unfortunately, with just one flipper, the turtle can only swim in counterclockwise circles, and has to push herself off the floor of her pool with her head in order to surface for air. That's mostly sad.
She does, however, have a little stump left where one of her flippers were, for which her caregivers hope to construct the first prosthetic sea turtle limb ever (probably.)
A prosthetic turtle flipper. All right.
thats is so sad.. i really do like turtles, i;m glad that sea turtles inc was able to help the turtle survive.
I'm confused. Just how many flippers did this thing have originally? Does she still have three or just one? And does it matter?
Ah, thank you mdr.
She just has one--that was my brain trying (and succeeding) to escape from my head. I'll fix that.
And of course it matters! Unless you think the hilarity of a turtle that can only swim in circles is more important than a happy turtle. Although... this may be the case.
cant you put 3 fake flippers on that turtle?
BOOYAKASHA!
Thats sweet...... i cant believe that it survived with only one flipper..........cant you give it a fake leg!!!!!!!
i think its a cool thing that they want to make prosthetic flippers for the little guy but my question is how will they get the money for it? and how much will it cost for each turtle to get it done?
IBI Call it what you want IBI
i really like turtles
but i cant see the point in giving a wild animal
a piece of equipment thats more expensive than an ipod
what then, would it be the new iturtle
That's My Boy Flipper!!!
