Is this a great country or what?

As you head to the polls today, bear in mind the things that make America great. Freedom of speech. Representative democracy. And pumpkin chucking.

Thanks for the "pumpkin chucking" link. Cool that they can go almost a mile and that the are purists enough to reject a $10,000 sponsorship.

Dude, this is 'Merica!

High 'n tight conservatives and dreadlocked hippies alike can appreciate the drive and ingenuity it takes to build a massive pneumatic cannon just because you want to, and who could say no to launching a vegetable a mile through the air? (A person who is living a lie, that's who)

Everything is connected to everything. Or, as the great Cecil Adams once said, "stop by my office sometime and I'll explain the concept of a 'joke' to you."

pumpkin chucking has little, if anything, to do with election day. as 'pumpkin vandalism'- i.e., smashing-
is related more towards halloween.
and a person's definition of a joke varies as well, at least as to what's funny and what isn't.
i've been to comedy clubs before, some jokes aren't funny at all to me because they're mean.

Maybe the point is that it's great to live in a country so rich in resources that we can afford to "waste" food in this way, and that we're lucky to live in a place so rich in innovation that many, many people entertain themselves with a challenge like this.

You got it. Rich in resources, rich in imagination, rich in the freedom to do any damn fool thing you want. This is what makes America great, and protect and perpetuate that greatness through elections.

My jokes are funnier than ants, but not as funny as wasps. I mean, come on, who can compete with that?
