Scott Shoemaker is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in American Studies with a focus in American Indian Studies at the University of Minnesota. His Masters degree is in landscape architecture, and he is an enrolled member of the Miami Nation of Indiana. Scott has worked for his tribe and the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma as a language instructor for adults and children’s camps every summer for the past 10 years. He is also a ribbon work artist whose pieces are in collections of museums like the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, a newly-appointed Consortium for Faculty Diversity Fellow at Macalester College, and Scott was a 2007 intern in Ethnology.
