Minnesota Original: Ethnology Collection

The Science Museum of Minnesota preserves over 25,000 ethnographic objects from around the world. Core collections include material culture from American Indian, Mayan, Hmong, African, Oceanic, and Amazonian culture groups. According to Curator of Ethnology Tilly Laskey, the collection is one of the "best kept secrets in the Midwest."

Watch these videos for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour with Laskey and learn about our research projects in the Ethnology department.

This segment aired as part of MN Original show #234. MN Original is tpt's weekly celebration of Minnesota artists, working in all disciplines, across all cultures.
