![]() Leopard Sculpture Asante, Akan Province, Ghana, Africa, 1900-1950 Bronze A84:17:39 Asante people are known for their metalwork, and large bronze sculptures like this one are status symbols of power for them. Curator's pickI chose this sculpture because it represents a larger collection of nearly 900 African cultural objects in The Science Museum of Minnesota’s permanent collection. I find this leopard sculpture very engaging and enjoy his abstract qualities, like his star-shaped feet.
